Professional Development is a MUST

As an Educator the one thing I can control is my professional development.

I want to stay abreast of the latest trends and development in teaching and learning because my focus is on helping my students find academic success.

Why is this important?

In today's COVID19 reality I cannot control a lot of things. However, I can control how I spend time developing my own skills.

The truth is I will not get all the professional development (PD) I need from my work site. The Teaching and Learning department are limited in time and money.

Also, I enjoy learning from people who are in different industries but are still providing services in the field of education.

What about the cost of professional development?

Currently many education focused organizations are providing free professional development opportunities so you don't have to pay for it (Awesome!).

But how do I find these opportunities for free professional development?

1. You can start by following we will share free professional development opportunities .

2. Pick one product you really like using and follow them on social media. Many times they share when they will offer FREE PD.

3. Sign-up via email to receive the latest updates and offerings of their product. For example, I follow Kami and I received an email letting me know they are having a free virtual conference for educators.

Where do I find the time to do this?

You don't have to attend the PD opportunity at the the day and time it is offered. Many times you can sign-up and then receive the recording of the event so you can watch it when you have time.

Try it out... follow one product or organization and see what you can learn.
